Listen Now: Daft Punk reveal 10-minute ‘Get Lucky’ remix

It’s rare to see much action on the official Daft Punk Facebook page, so any post is sure to have the full attention of fans. Today, the duo posted a link to hear the rumoured remix of Get Lucky on Spotify, revealing this video teaser (see below) in the process. You can also preorder vinyl fromrandomaccessmemories.com.

“We’re working on some mixes ourselves,” Daft Punk’s Thomas Bangalter revealed to Pete Tong on Radio 1. “So yes, there will probably be Daft Punk mixes of Daft Punk. Usually we never mix ourselves, that’s something we feel we’re interested in doing this time.”

For some fans, the pair’s decision to remix their own work is sure to be well-received. The remix edition of 2010’s Tron Legacy soundtrack, which brought big guns like Paul Oakenfold, Boys Noize, Kaskade and Avicii on board to put their spin on the Disney soundtrack, met with mixed reviews. “Reconfigured was always going to be a bitter pill to swallow, for both fans of the original Tron Legacy soundtrack and the artists on here battling up-hill to make something worthwhile.” ITM’s Dave Ruby-Howe wrote at the time of release. “This collection is not without its charms, there’s probably even more bright spots than you’d think actually, but all the same it’s a scattered and often ugly clone of Daft Punk’s original masterstroke.”

Ben UFO, Bondax, Bashmore, and more for MoMA party series

It’s been announced that Ryan Hemsworth, Caribou, Julio Bashmore, Jackmaster, A Guy Called Gerald, King Britt, Cajmere and Ben UFO have all been booked to play the famous MoMA party series this summer.

The museum’s courtyard will be transformed into a party space every Saturday from June 29 to September 7.

Now in its 16th year of the outdoor music series, the bookings have become increasingly intriguing and forward-thinking.

Having performances at museums is nothing new, as art has complimented other art since the beginning of time. Kraftwerk’s recent performances are a perfect example of this.

But some of the electronic acts that will be appearing at the Museum Of Modern Art in New York this summer are a true testament to underground music’s ascension.

The line-up also boasts an impressive array of local New York talent. See the full line-ups and get tickets here.

T. Williams is ready to drop his first original material this year, ‘Three Letters’.

The track, which is due to be released in August on PMR Records, is a pre-cursor to his subsequent EP, due later this year.

The track features infectious layered riffs, a soulful vocal sample and a bouncing baseline, expanding beyond house into deeper territory. Listen to ‘Three Letters’ below.

After remixing Disclosure’s ‘Latch’ in the past, Williams has also announced that he will be supporting the duo on their US tour in the Autumn.

Watch a Short Documentary on Motor City Drum Ensemble

After slowing down his once prodigious tour and release schedule in the last couple of years, Motor City Drum Ensemble (a.k.a. Danilo Plessow) has recently returned to the grind, touring once again and releasing the Send A Prayer EP via his own MCDE imprint. He’s also been made the focal point of a new mini-doc for Resident Advisor‘s Behind the Beats series, the first installment of which featured Nina Kraviz. In its latest piece, Resident Advisor trails the now Utrecht-based DJ/producer to a number of his gigs around Europe, and Plessow discusses the stresses that lead to his extended break from the limelight.
